The fascinating world of fiction

On October 12, 2018, within the framework of the mobile library project, the specialists of the information and library center “Bilim” organized a mobile library for students of secondary school №182. This event is dedicated to the celebration in our country of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the great Kyrgyz writer and public figure Chingiz Aitmatov. In this regard, the students were offered the book exhibition “Chingiz Aitmatov - a talented Kyrgyz writer” and “The world of fiction”. In the bibliographic review, which was conducted by the specialist of the center, the students were introduced to the popular works of Ch. Aitmatov, as well as publications of fiction by Uzbek and world authors. Not only students of the school, but also pedagogies and parents showed great interest in the books presented. At the end of the event, ILC employees distributed booklets to all participants telling about the activities of the metropolitan information and library center, as well as bibliographic products dedicated to Aitmatov and representatives of Uzbek classical and modern literature.

Those who wanted to take a closer look at the presented editions of fiction were recorded in the library and, as users of the ILC “Bilim”, got the opportunity to read books in a cozy home environment.

On October 1, 2018, the specialists of the Bilim Information and Library Center, in cooperation with the comprehensive school No. 178 of Tashkent, organized a spiritual and educational event - a seminar entitled “Actual problems of eradicating early marriage and early pregnancy among girls”. As part of the event, the IBC specialist conducted a bibliographic review of the thematic exhibition “Young Mother’s Corner”, which presents publications from the library’s collection on a relevant topic. More than 65 high school students took an active part in the event. During the event, the head of the Chilanzar district family affairs department S. Eshmatova made a presentation on the topic “Marriage issues, rights and obligations of the parties in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. Further, the speech of the gynecologist U. Abdullayev on the theme “The Impact of Early Motherhood on Reproductive Health” was heard. Then, N. Gafurova, head of the sector of the NDPU Tashkent city council, spoke about the role and importance of the participation of girls in negative situations. At the end of the event, a discussion was held on a topical topic, and exhaustive answers were given to the questions of the seminar participants.

On October 10, 2018, the specialists of the Bilim Information Library Center in cooperation with representatives of the Central Council of the People's Democratic Party of Ukraine in the conference hall of the Development Strategy Center held a political-educational event - a training session on Forms and Methods of Using Electoral Technologies in the Practice of Political Parties. The event was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, M. Darkhonov, who made a presentation on “Election processes: the use of political technologies and their skills”. A. Abdukhalilov, Doctor of Political Sciences, spoke about the forms and methods of applying electoral technologies in practice in political parties. Further, the event heard a report by Kh. Karimova on the topic “The use of propaganda technologies in the electoral process”, in which particular attention was paid to increasing the level of political literacy of the population.

The event was attended by activists of political parties, media representatives, young citizens, as well as users of the Moscow ILC.

From October 15 to October 20 of this year, the VII National Information Library Week "Infolib Uzbekistan" will be held at the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan.

In addition to the National Library of Uzbekistan, the Agency for the Press and Information, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Public Education, Culture, Health, the Academy of Sciences and other organizations participate in organizing the week.

The program of the VII National Library and Information Week "Infolib Uzbekistan" includes about 50 different events aimed at increasing the interest of young people in reading, including "Betgerov's Readings - 2018", the conference on "Combining the efforts of the National Library and Information and Library Centers - an important step in the development of the library and information sphere, the seminar The Book and the Readers are a Mirror of Human Spirituality, the creative competition The Best Specialist of the Information Library Institution - 2018.

At the same time, it is planned to hold creative contests on the themes “Reading Mother - Reading Child”, “Traveling around Uzbekistan”, and master classes in handicraft.

The current educational week will be remembered for such events as presentations of online magazines, quizzes and competitions in Italian, Japanese, Chinese, English, tests, seminars on the use of foreign electronic databases, exhibitions of new books, educational events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the organization of information and library Center "Turon", familiarity with the activities of publishers.

Without a doubt, a joint videoconference on digitization and storage of the library fund with the Library of Congress, the British educational international program "Chevening" for undergraduates, as well as an event entitled "Get information on IELTS exams and benefits" will cause genuine interest among young people.

For the first time in Tashkent will host the international television festival

On October 4-6, the 8th international television festival TEFI-Sodruzhestvo, organized by the Academy of Russian Television Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of Electronic Media of Uzbekistan.

The international television festival "TEFI-Commonwealth" has been held by the Academy of Russian Television Foundation among representatives of the television art of the CIS countries and neighboring countries for several years now. The International Television Festival was founded in 2011 and has been stimulated from the very beginning by the Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States and the Federal Agency for the Press and Mass Communications of Russia.

Every year this festival is held in one of the CIS countries, the purpose of which is to create a common information space of the Commonwealth countries. The theme of the festival is diverse, and creative teams from the countries of the CIS, Baltic States and Georgia take part.

In the framework of TEFI-Commonwealth, an expert council is formed, with the participation of experienced specialists in the sphere, master classes are held, current problems of modern television, creative works are discussed, and conversations are organized. At the end of the festival, the winners are awarded special prizes.

This year the theme of the festival will be “The Image of the Motherland: time, place, fate”. Among the guests of the festival are: TV and film producer Alexander Oleynikov, journalist, TV and radio host Mikhail Kozhukhov, host of NTV television programs Sergei Mayorov and many others.

In this regard, on September 25, 2018 in the information and library center "Bilim" under the motto "Healthy and spiritually mature generation - the future of the country" the exhibition "Children's Book" started. The exhibition is organized by the Tashkent territorial administration of the Uzbek Agency for Press and Information and the Bilim Information and Library Center in Tashkent. The event was attended by writers and poets, students of secondary schools No. 182 and No. 184 of the Chilanzar district, the Tashkent Pedagogical College, and active users of the capital's IBC. The purpose of the joint event is to acquaint the younger generation with the book novelties of children's and youthful artistic, educational and educational literature, which are produced by local publishers, as well as with the activities of information and library institutions to promote reading culture and innovative forms of attracting young people to the ranks of library users. This spiritual and educational event was opened by the head of the city administration of the press and information agency Urunov S. and the director of the Bilim IBC Karimov H. Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics will open a joint faculty in Tashkent

Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmiy (TUIT) signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint faculty, Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.

This became known after the meeting of the leadership of the two universities in Tashkent.

Within the framework of the signed agreement, starting from 2019-2020 academic year, TUIT will recruit students for a joint faculty for training in the following areas:


Information Technology Software;

Programmable mobile systems;

Artificial Intelligence.


The training at the joint faculty will be held in two stages. At the first stage, students will study the first 2 courses in TUIT, the second stage will continue training in Belarus.

The training will be conducted in Russian. In this regard, as early as November 2018, the preparatory department will be opened and courses on the Russian language and general educational subjects - mathematics, physics, the basics of informatics, English will be organized.

This agreement between universities will promote the development of multilateral cooperation, strengthening of friendly ties between the peoples of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
